Introvert: Someone who focuses more inside his own mind than pays attention to what goes on around him. 

A shy person: Someone who’s socially anxious. 

Some introverts are actually really talkative, it’s just that they don’t always feel like talking; a shy person doesn’t have a choice. So you shouldn’t call every quiet person shy or anti-social. Sometimes, you’re just not interesting, and that person would rather spend time thinking to himself than listen to you.
